Voice Over Bio

stephen-briggs-bowtie.jpgStephen discovered he was a performer at the age of 5, when he streaked through one of his mother’s tea parties wearing nothing but oversized platform shoes and a miniature cape shrieking, “Someone’s let the snake out! Run for your life!” After many years of therapy he graduated from Curtin University with a double major in Theatre Arts and Creative Writing before attending WAPPA and studying Broadcasting. Midway through his time at WAPPA he decided he didn’t want to be a journo and moved to Sydney to join RMK Voice Productions. Stephen has voiced countless campaigns, appeared in Ship to Shore 2, 12 TVC’s and numerous professional plays. He wrote and presented DRIBBLE, a comedy talk back show for Austereo’s PMFM 92.9. His first feature film script ‘LILAC SWIRL on tailored gamine Jacket with Matching pant’ won the Screen West New Screen Writers competition. He has written and directed 6 short films, one of which WHATEVER IT TAKES satirises the Voice Over business. (see link)

Stephen’s dedicated work ethic, broad range, vast experience, versatility and genuine love of verbal communication ensure that he’s the perfect choice for everything from ultra natural “man in the street” reads to hard edged promos (and everything in between). His regular voice over clients are often heard to say:
“Sure he gets it in a couple of takes. And he’s funny as all f*ck. But the best thing about working with Stephen has got to be the platforms and that cape”.
